SPECIAL WINNING ATTITUDE TEAM
What is a S.W.A.T. member?
This is a student who has achieved the rank of Green Belt or higher and has
been selected by the instructors of the Collingwood Martial Arts Centre to
assist in the teaching of classes, school demonstrations, role modeling and
structuring of our school's curriculum.
How do you become a S.W.A.T. member?
You must be recommended by one of your instructors, having proven to them to
have a great attitude and a commitment to training. You must have exhibited
and achieved mental maturity as well as possess the ability to work as a
team member.
What are the advantages?
This experience adds another dimension to your training. Not every senior belt
student will be given this opportunity. You are learning something invaluable
during this time. Being a S.W.A.T. Member is a privilege not to be treated
lightly. This is a chance for you to share your knowledge in a positive and
productive manner.
What are the disadvantages?
There should'nt be any unless you create your own, such as:
Making a commitment you are not ready for.
Using this position to feed your ego.
Expecting some special compensation for something that you wanted to do.
Special privileges?
NONE! It is a privilege and an honour to be selected to function in this capacity.
If you are looking for a reward beyond satisfaction of helping a fellow student
and learning at the same time, you do not belong on S.W.A.T.!
